Breakfast with Santa

Each December, the Osoyoos Child Care Centre and the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #173 Osoyoos host the very popular Breakfast with Santa. Pictures with Santa are offered for a very low cost. There are awesome door prizes. It's fun for the whole family! Here are the details for this year's event!

  • Place: The Royal Canadian Legion - Upstairs Hall in Osoyoos, BC
  • Date: Sunday, December 7, 2008
  • Time: 8:30 am to 11:00 am
  • Cost: $5.00 per person, Children 10 and under are FREE with a donation to the food bank!!!!

    Christmas Raffle

    Each year, during the holiday season, the centre holds a Christmas Raffle. This raffle is the centre's major fundraiser. Tickets are $2.00 each and this year, only 3500 tickets were printed. The prizes are:

  • 1st Prize: 40" LCD TV from Sears and a single-disk Home Theatre System from The Source
  • 2nd Prize: Trip for 2 to Las Vegas, Valued at $1000
  • 3rd Prize: Camping Package from Home Hardware (includes tent, 2 sleeping bags, 2 folding chairs, cooler, lantern, tackle box with supplies)

    The main draw date is Sunday, December 7, 2008 at Breakfast with Santa in the Legion Hall. New this year, we are also offering an Early Bird Draw on November 7th! Tickets purchased before November 7th will qualify for this draw and the prizes are:

  • $50 Gift Certificate from Unity
  • Gift Basket from Pharmasave ($50)
  • Hair Care Package from Beyond Beauty ($65)
  • 85 Piece Tool Set from Napa Oliver ($80)

    Tickets available at: Sears, The Source, Shell Gas Bar, Sage Beer & Wine Store, Napa Oliver, Pharmasave, and Osoyoos Child Care Centre staff, board members and families.





    Easter Extravaganza

    This event is held downtown Osoyoos outside the Town Hall. Each year the centre is involved in the events of Easter Extravaganza on the Saturday of Easter Weekend. We operate a fish pond with items donated from A&W and the Dollar Store with More. This is a fun and exciting event with the children fishing out prizes and everyone wins! We also man a face painting booth. It is a great family day downtown. The money raised from this event goes toward the needs of the centre.





    Trike-a-Thon

    Father and daughter participating in the yearly Trike-A-Thon at Hayne's Point The trike-a-thon is the Playschool fundraising event. The event is held at Haynes Point Provincial Park in the spring every year. This event is held in conjuction with Safe Kids Week and the children go out and gather pledges from family, friends and even their teachers. The children ride their trikes, bikes (decorated or not) around Haynes Point and end up with a barbeque of hotdogs, drinks and ice cream. Each child receives a certificate of participation and a medal. This money is raised for the playschool program.

    Beef on a Bun

    On July 1st, the centre has a food venue at the Community Beach selling beef on a bun and drinks at the Cherry Fiesta. This is a great fundraiser and we use the money raised for all the programs at the centre.
